Data processing by us

Public relations

The data you provide on our social media sites, such as user name, comments, videos, images, likes and public messages, is published by the social media platform and never processed for other reasons by us. We simply retain the right to delete content if necessary. We may share your content on our page if that is one of the social media platform’s functions, and we may communicate with you via the social media platform.

If you ask us a question on the social media platform, then, depending on the content, we may suggest a different, secure communication channel to guarantee confidentiality. You have, for example, the option at any time to send us your enquiries to the address in the Legal Notice, or to social@seehotel-zarrentin.de. It is your responsibility to choose an appropriate communication channel.

The legal basis for processing your data in this way is Art. 6 Par. 1 (1) (f) GDPR. Data processing is done in pursuit of our legitimate interest to conduct public relations work for our business and communicate with you.

Data processing with joint responsibility

For some processing activities, we are jointly responsible with the social media platform provider involved. Accordingly, we have concluded the agreements required under Art. 26 GDPR wherever the social media platform provider allows this.

You can read about the main elements of this joint responsibility in the following section.

Statistics (insights)

The social media platforms we use regularly create statistics (insights) on the basis of usage data, which contains information about your interaction with our social media site. We cannot influence or prevent these statistics from being drawn up or made available.

We process the aforementioned information (statistics) pursuant to Art. 6 Par. 1 (1) (f) GDPR in our legitimate interest of validating interactions with our social media sites and improving our content in relation to our target groups.

Target-group-based advertising

We also use the aforementioned social media platforms to create targeted advertising.

To do this, we use target group definitions which are made available to us by the social media operator. We only use anonymous target group definitions – which means we define characteristics such as general demographic details, behaviour, interests and connections. The social media platform provider uses this to deliver advertisements to its users accordingly. The legal basis for this is the consent which the social media platform provider obtains from its users.

If you want to revoke that consent, please use the revoke options provided by the social media platform provider, because they are responsible for this processing.

We / the social media platform provider also use publicly available data for target group definition. The legal basis for this processing is then Art. 6 Par. 1 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest in this is to conduct as close a target group definition as possible. For our target group definitions, we never use sensitive categories of personal data as listed in Art. 9 and 10 GDPR (such as political opinions, sexual orientation).

For our target group definitions, we also use information about visiting and interacting with other websites (“remarketing”). To do this we use cookies, among other things. However, if we do this, we obtain the consent of users beforehand by means of a consent banner on the other pages, and inform them instantly about the data processing involved. You can revoke this consent at any time by re-opening the consent banner on the website concerned.

Data processed by the social media platform provider

The social media platform provider uses web tracking methods. Web tracking can happen regardless of whether you are registered or logged onto the social media platform.

We would therefore like to inform you that the social media platform provider may use and evaluate your profile and behaviour data for its own purposes. We have no influence on how the social media platform provider processes your data. Please remember this when you use the social media platform.

Please refer to the operator’s privacy statement for more information about how the social media platform provider processes your data, how you can configure things to protect your privacy, and what other options there are for refusing consent.

Storage duration

We will delete your personal data when it is no longer needed for the aforementioned processing purposes and if there are no statutory obligations to keep it.

As a user, you have, with respect to both us and the social media platform provider, the option of asserting the following rights if the conditions exist:
